lan then spent over 20 years owning and operating a small chain of supermarkets with annual turnover in excess of $50 million and with over 300 employees.

Whilst operating supermarkets, lan also worked as a consultant at Composite Buyers Ltd. In that role, lan was instrumental in merging the Payless and Tuckerbag supermarket groups.

In 1993 Ian sold his supermarkets and purchased a dairy farm which he operated till 1998.

Ian took up a role as a business broker in 1998 where his skills have been instrumental in the very successful sale of a large number of independent supermarkets to Safeway, Coles and Franklins. Ian has also been involved in the sale of a broad range of businesses including importers, distributors, food manufacturers and food wholesalers.

In 2001, Ian successfully negotiated an outcome for Woolworths by divesting six of their supermarkets to independents under instructions from the ACCC to enable Woolworths to acquire 67 Franklins stores.

Ian has also acted for Coles Myer Limited on a national basis in the acquisition of a significant number of businesses in recent years.

Ian has excellent contacts across a broad range of businesses, has very good commercial judgement, strong people skills and is a proven negotiator. Ian is a good team player, is very persistent and is dedicated to getting the job done.

lan has travelled extensively throughout Asia, America and Europe, keeping up to date with overseas trends.

lan's interests are travelling, fishing, reading and bush walking.
